JUSTICE ANUP JAIRAM BHAMBHANI O R D E R % 27.07.2026 By way of the present writ petition filed under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner inter-alia seeks a direction to respondent No. 2 to process, formalize and dispose-of the petitioner’s form TM-P application bearing request No. 470591 in respect of the registered trade mark ‘SURAJ’ bearing registration No. 1278518 in Class 9, that is stated to be pending with respondent No. 2 for a very long time. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the aforesaid trade mark was assigned by a partnership firm M/s Suraj Cables to M/s Suraj Cables (India) Private Limited, viz., the petitioner company; whereafter, on 14th June 2025, the subject application was made to respondent No. 2 for transfer of the trade mark in favour of the company, but that application has been pending ever since. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits, that by reason of pendency of the transfer application, the petitioner company is unable to bid for contracts on the Government e-Marketplace portal; nor is the company able to secure the status in the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) category. 4. Issue notice. 5. Learned counsel, as above, appear on behalf of respondents Nos. 1 and 2 on advance copy; and accept notice. 6. Considering the limited nature of the prayer, the present petition is disposed-of directing respondent No. 2 to process the petitioner’s application referred to above within 03 weeks from today. 7. Petition stands disposed-of in the above terms. 8. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed-of. 9. Let a copy of this order be communicated by the Registry to respondent No.2 expeditiously.
