UNNI KRISHNAN NAIR ORDER Date : 07.09.2026 The present Interlocutory Application has been instituted by the Page No.# 3/4 Petitioner praying for impleading the present incumbent in the post of Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, Department of Pension and Public Grievance, as a Respondent in the connected Contempt Petition being Cont.Cas(C)/128/2026. I have perused the contentions raised in the present Interlocutory Application and also the contents of a communication dated 10.06.2026, by which the Petitioner had forwarded a copy of the Judgment and Order dated 07.03.2025, passed by this Court in WP(C) No. 5305/2024, to the current incumbent in the post of Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, Dept. of Pension and Public Grievance, Dispur, Guwahati-6, for compliance. In view of the contentions raised in the present Interlocutory Application, this Court is of the considered view that the Official, sought to be impleaded, is also the authority to process the matter for compliance of the directions passed by this Court, vide order dated 07.03.2025, in WP(C) No. 5302/2024 and accordingly, the Petitioner is required to be permitted to implead ; “Dr. P Ashok Babu, IAS, Commissioner and Secretary, The Government of Assam, Pension and Public Grievance Department, Dispur, Guwahati-6.”; as respondent No. 8, in the connected Contempt Petition.
