The limited prayer before the Court by the writ petitioner is that the petitioner had challenge the appointment of the private respondent No.3, appointment as a Gaon Bura/ Gaon Pradhan of Lot No. 3 of Uttar Khatowal Kisamat Village in the District of Nagaon. This appeal came to be dismissed by the appellate authority against which the petitioner filed the Review Application as permitted under Executive Instruction 162 D appended to the Assam Land and Revenue Regulation, 1886. Review was filed on 21.08.2025, however till date the review petition has not been disposed of, being aggrieved the petitioner is before the Court. 3. Mr. J. Handique, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Revenue Department submits that the Review Authority is the Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Management Department. As per telephonic instruction received, the copies have been served on the opposite party, namely the private respondent in the review proceeding, and they had prayed for time to file their objection/ W.S. However, the learned Standing Counsel was not aware of the previously fixed date. 4. In view of the extremely limited grievance of the writ petitioner that the review petition has not been disposed of, this Court is of the considered view that ends of justice will be met if this writ petition is closed at this stage without issuance of notice with a specific direction to the authority hearing the review Page No.# 3/3 petition, namely the Additional Chief Secretary of Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, Government of Assam to expeditiously consider the Review Petition filed by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders thereon. 5. Let this Exercise be completed within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. 6. Needless to say, if any such orders that may be passed in the Review Petition, copies thereof shall be served on all the affected parties including the writ petitioner. 7.
