2. The brief facts are that the petitioner was a student of M.Tech (Bioinformatics) at the respondent No. 1 namely, Netaji Subhas University of Technology (“NSUT”) for the academic session 2021-2023. 3. As per the petitioner, in the 4th and last semester, the respondent No. 5 was awarded a CGPA of 10 only upon the submission of a research paper published in the ‘YMER’ journal. 4. When the results of the final semester were announced, the respondent No. 1 University issued a tentative list of Gold Medal awardees, wherein the respondent No. 5 was awarded the Gold Medal This is a digitally signed order. in M.Tech (Bioinformatics). 5. Subsequently, the petitioner got to know that the thesis of respondent No. 5 was rejected on the ground that the respondent No. 5’s article had been published in the ‘YMER’ journal, which was improper as the said journal was a “cloned journal”. 6.
Thereafter, the respondent No. 1 University corrected the mistake and the petitioner was declared as the topper of 2023 batch of M.Tech (Bioinformatics). 7. Ms. Raman, learned panel counsel appearing on behalf of respondent No. 1 University, has handed over a schedule dated 06.07.2026, which contains the list of dates of the meetings to be convened by the Senate, the Finance Committee and the Board of Management of the respondent No. 1 University. As per this schedule, the Senate is to meet on 07.08.2026, the Finance Committee is to meet on 17.08.2026 and the Board of Management is to meet on 02.09.2026. Only after the scheduled meetings of the aforesaid committees, the petitioner would be entitled to be considered for the said gold medal. 8. I am of the view that the petitioner is a topper and hence entitled to the Gold Medal in M.Tech (Bioinformatics). The petitioner has been waiting for the last three years for recognition of her hardwork and effort, which for no fault of the petitioner has been denied to her. 9. It is expected and hoped that the Senate, Finance Committee and the Board of Management of the respondent No. 1 University shall consider the case of the petitioner on the respective dates of their meetings and award the gold medal to the petitioner. This is a digitally signed order. The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
