GP FOR FINANCE PLANNING The Court made the following: 3 HON’BLE SRI JUSTICE NYAPATHY VIJAY W.P.No.12326 of 2026 O R DE R: The present Writ Petition is filed questioning the action of Respondents in not releasing the financial assistance of Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs only), sanctioned to Petitioner (Application I.D.No.OV2018121161) under ‘Videshi Vidya Deevana’ Overseas Scholarship scheme, as illegal and arbitrary. 2. The Petitioner had applied for financial assistance under ‘Videshi Vidya Deevana’ Overseas Scholarship scheme for the academic year 2018-2019 and the same was allotted with Application I.D.No.OV2018121161. After due verification, Respondent No.3 sanctioned Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs only) in favour of the Petitioner for pursuing Post Graduation Course in Australia. The Respondents have to release first installment after the candidate arrived at overseas by uploading Immigration Card and the second installment has to be released after uploading the results of first semester. Even though, the Petitioner uploaded the Immigration Card and 4 result of first semester, the Respondents have not released the amount. Though, the Petitioner had completed his Post Graduation, the financial assistance as promised to the Petitioner was not disbursed to him. Hence, the present Writ Petition is filed. 3. Learned Standing Counsel for Respondent No.3/Corporation submits that the application of the Petitioner would be considered and amounts would be sanctioned, if the Petitioner is within the conditions specified, for release of the amounts. 4. Considering the submissions, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with the following directions:- (i) The Respondents are directed to examine the claim of the Petitioner within a period of six (06) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. (ii) In the event, the claim of the Petitioner is held to be in order, the Respondents are directed to release the amounts to the Petitioner within a further 5 period of eight (08) weeks. (iii) There shall be no order as to costs. As a sequel, the miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Petition shall stand closed. __________________ NYAPATHY VIJAY, J Date: 30.04.2026 KLP
