The petition has been filed for the following reliefs: “(a) Direct the Respondent to release the Petitioner on parole for a period of 15 (fifteen) days, on such terms and conditions as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper, to enable him to perform the last rites and connected religious rituals of his deceased mother; and/or” 2. It is submitted that the petitioner’s mother had expired on 21.07.2026 and the said fact has also been verified by the respondent. 3. The petitioner was convicted for offence under Section 6 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and was sentenced to undergo 10 years imprisonment and was also imposed a fine of Rs. 15,000/-, however, the same was reduced to 5 years imprisonment and fine This is a digitally signed order. As per the latest nominal roll, as on 28.07.2026, the petitioner has left with 5 months and 28 days sentence. 5. As noted above, the fact of death of mother has duly been verified by the respondent-State. The facts would indicate that the petitioner was granted six (6) hours custody parole for cremation. 6. The petitioner intends to perform post cremation religious ceremonies. Bearing in mind the status report filed by the State and the overall facts and circumstances, the petition stands allowed. 7. Accordingly, let the petitioner be released on parole for a period of 15 days from his date of release, subject to such conditions as may be imposed by the Trial Court. 8.
