ORAL ORDER Sri.Manohar., counsel on behalf of Sri.Manjunath.G.V., for the petitioners, Smt.Rashmi Rao., High Court Government Pleader for respondent No.1 and Sri.H.V.Devaraju., counsel for respondents 3 and 4 have appeared in person.
2. The petition is filed seeking the following reliefs:
"a. Issue a writ of certiorari or any other writ of like nature and quash the Notice dated 12-05- 2025, issued by the 4th respondent vide Annexure-C to the writ petition, in so far as petitioner is concerned.
b. Grant any other remedy that this Hon'ble Court deems fit, in the interest of justice and equity."
3. Counsel for the respective parties urged several
contentions. Heard the arguments and perused the papers with utmost care.
4. The BESCOM authorities issued a communication to the petitioners on 12.05.2025. The grievance of the petitioners is that they were not given an opportunity to place their

defence in respect of the notice. Under these circumstances, they are before this Court.
5. Taking note of the grievance, the communication is treated as a show cause notice and the petitioners are at liberty to submit a reply to the show cause notice for redressal of their grievance.
6. The petitioners are permitted to submit thier reply within four weeks from the receipt of certified copy of this
order. After the receipt of the reply, the authority concerned is
directed to consider the reply and act in accordance with the law. Needless to say that the power connection shall not be disconnected till the consideration of the reply that would be submitted by the petitioners. The petitioners shall pay the regular consumption charges.
