Hussain, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Also heard Ms. D.S. Neog, learned Standing Counsel for the Irrigation Department. 2. The prayer made in the present writ petition is for a direction to the respondent authorities to release the admitted amount of Rs. 6,42,788/- ( rupees six lakh forty-two thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight only) for the Contract Work namely, Nurul Cheraa FIS under M & R for the year 2018-19 corresponding to Work Order vide No. KID/WO/ 30/ 509 dated 17.01.2020 issued by respondent No.4, done by the petitioner or, in the alternative, directed the respondent authorities to dispose of the representations dated 27.11.2024 and 29.11.2024 submitted by the petitioner. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that pursuant to a work order dated 07.01.2020, the petitioner had carried out the required work and a work completion certificate had also been issued by the Executive Engineer. The petitioner had thereafter submitted his bills, which were not paid. He has referred to the advocate's notice issued to the respondent authorities, which also remains unanswered. He has accordingly prayed that the Page No.# 3/3 respondents be directed to verify the claim of the petitioner and also to dispose of the representation dated 27.11.2024 and 29.11.2024 preferred before the Chief Engineer, Irrigation, Assam, and the Executive Engineer, Karimganj Division (Irrigation), Karimganj, within a specific time frame so that the petitioner is made aware of the fate of his pending claims. 4. The learned counsel appearing for the Irrigation Department has submitted that there be no objection to directions for the disposal of the representation and a proper verification being carried out regarding the claims of the petitioner. 5. Accordingly, at the consensus of the learned counsel for the parties, the respondent No.2 and the respondent No.3 are directed to take up the representations placed before them by the petitioner, on the two dates specified above and dispose of the said representations within a period of 6 (six) weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. 6. The respondent authorities shall also verify the claim of the petitioner to an entitlement of Rs. 6, 42, 788/- (rupees six lakh forty two thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight only). In the event the cooperation of the petitioner is sought by the aforesaid respondents for effective disposal, the petitioner shall cooperate accordingly. 7.
