The grievance of the petitioner is against the action of respondents Nos.2 and 3 in showing the petitioner's name as the ‘wife of Ali Abbas Mirza’, though she is the daughter of Ali Abbas Mirza and the wife of Meer Mohammed Sayeed, in the electoral roll pertaining to Polling Centre No. 183, Ward No.3 (new Division No. 42) of Machilipatnam (EPIC No. SGA0906073). Hence, the Writ Petition has been filed. 3. It is stated by the petitioner that she is the legally wedded wife of Mr. Meer Mohammed Sayeed and the daughter of Mr. Ali Abbas Mirza. It is further stated that, in the existing electoral roll as well as in the Elector Photo Identity Card bearing EPIC No. SGA0906073, pertaining to Polling Centre No. 183, Ward No.3 of Machilipatnam, the petitioner's name has been erroneously recorded. The petitioner submitted a representation dated 05.10.2026/Form-8 application, seeking correction of the entry to reflect her as the daughter, and not the wife, of Ali Abbas Mirza. 5 4. The learned counsel for the petitioner contends that in consequence thereto, a direction may be issued to the State Election Commission to correct the entry relating to the name of petitioner’s father in the electoral roll to be published shortly. In the said regard, he further submits that the petitioner intends to contest in the ensuing elections and, therefore, prays for a direction to the said Election Commission to consider her application. 5. Considered the submissions. 6. Having regard to the same, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the Writ Petition, directing the A.P. State Election Commission, to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.10.2026, and rectify the entry in the electoral roll by reflecting the particulars of the petitioner as the daughter of Ali Abbas Mirza instead of wife of Ali Abbas Mirza, forthwith, as it is stated that she is proposing to contest in the ensuing Elections. 7. With the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed. There shall be no order as to costs. As a sequel, miscellaneous applications pending, if any, shall also stand closed. ______________________________ JUSTICE KIRANMAYEE MANDAVA Dated:16.10.2026 MVK 6 95 THE HONOURABLE SMT JUSTICE KIRANMAYEE MANDAVA WRIT PETITION NO: 29636 of 2026 Date:16.10.2026 MVK
