Difusa, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Petitioners. Mr. J. Handique, the learned counsel appears on behalf of the Respondent Nos.2 & 3. The present writ petition has been filed by the Petitioners being aggrieved by the action on the part of the Respondent No.3 in passing the Mutation Order dated 22.11.2017 thereby incorporating the names of the Respondent Nos.4 to 7 in Mutation Case No.KAM/UTT/2017-18/753/FMUT by the Circle Officer, North Guwahati Revenue Circle. 3. When the writ petition was listed on the last occasion on 12.08.2026, this Court directed the Respondent No.3 to bring on record the order dated 22.11.2017 passed in Mutation Case No.KAM/UTT/2017-18/753/FMUT by the Circle Officer, North Guwahati Revenue Circle. 4. An additional affidavit was filed by the Respondent No.3 on 31.08.2026 and from a perusal of the said additional affidavit, it is seen that there is no order dated 22.11.2017 passed by the Respondent No.3 in Mutation Case No.KAM/UTT/2017- 18/753/FMUT. 5. Under such circumstances, it is therefore the opinion of this Court that the entries made in the Chitha on the basis of a fictitious order dated 22.11.2017 passed in Mutation Case No.KAM/UTT/2017-18/753/FMUT by the Circle Officer, North Guwahati Revenue Circle, cannot be permitted to be inserted. Accordingly, this Court, therefore, directs the Circle Officer, North Guwahati Revenue Circle to forthwith and not later than 15 days from the date a certified copy of the present order is served upon the Circle Officer, North Guwahati Revenue Circle to make correction in the record of rights thereby inserting the names of the persons who are entitled.
