HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT ALLAHABAD CRIMINAL MISC. WRIT PETITION No. - 20295 of 2026 Court No. - 49 HON'BLE AJAY BHANOT, J. HON'BLE DIVESH CHANDRA SAMANT, J. Counter affidavit filed on behalf of the State is taken on record. Heard Sri Subash Chandra Pandey, learned counsel holding brief for Sri Akash Kumar Nishad, learned counsel for the petitioner, and learned A.G.A. for the State. The petitioner is aggrieved by the order passed by the District Magistrate, Jaunpur, confiscating the petitioner's vehicle under the provisions of the Cow Slaughter Act. The petitioner has an alternative remedy of approaching the competent authority by filing a revision. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction that the petitioner shall prefer a revision before the competent authority within a period of one month. In case such an application is filed, the same shall be decided on merits without going into the issue of delay, as the petitioner has bona fide approached this Court directly by filing the writ petition. The revision shall be decided within a period of two months, if necessary, on a day-to-day basis. The aforesaid direction is imperative in nature, since any undue delay in deciding the revision may lead to deterioration of the vehicle.
