CORAM:
HON'BLE MS. JUSTICE MADHU JAIN O R D E R % 21.07.2026
1. This hearing has been done through hybrid mode.
2. By the way of the present petition the petitioner is seeking quashing of FIR No. 745/2023, registered at Police Station Narela, Distt. North, Delhi, for the offences punishable under Sections 323/308/147/148/149/34 of the Indian Penal Code,1860 (hereinafter referred to as the ‘IPC’), and all consequential proceedings under Session Case No. 830/2023 pending before the learned Principal District and Session Judge, North District, Rohini Courts, Delhi, on the basis of a Memorandum of Understanding/Settlement Agreement dated 11.02.2026 entered into between the parties. 3. Issue notice.
4. The learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State.
5. The petitioners and complainant/respondents nos. 2 to 10 are present before this Court and have been duly identified by their counsel and Investigating Officer.
6.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the FIR was registered on account of a trivial altercation between neighbouring families arising out of a misunderstanding and that, during the pendency of the proceedings, the parties have amicably resolved all their disputes by executing a Memorandum of Understanding dated 11.02.2026. It is submitted that in terms of the settlement, all disputes stand resolved and the respondents have no surviving grievance against the petitioners.
7. On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 to 10, who has been identified by the IO, has categorically stated that he has entered the settlement voluntarily, out of his own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. They further submit that they have no objection if the present FIR and all proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
8. In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question.
9. Accordingly, FIR No. 745/2023, registered at Police Station Narela, Distt. North, Delhi for the offences punishable under Sections This is a digitally signed order.
