02/ 14.05.2026: Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the State.
2. The petitioner is apprehending his arrest in connection with Murhu P.S. Case No. 08 of 2026, registered under sections 111(2) (ii)/303(b) and 305(e) of BNS and 3/4 Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984 pending in the Court of learned S.D.J.M at Khunti.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is neither the owner nor the driver of the vehicle in question on which 34 bundles of electric wire was loaded and his name has transpired in the confessional statement. He submits that petitioner has got no criminal antecedent which is disclosed in para 15 of the petition. On these grounds, he submits that the petitioner may kindly be provided privilege of anticipatory bail.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer and submits that the name of the petitioner has come in the confessional statement.

Considering that petitioner has got no criminal antecedent which is disclosed in para 15 of the petition and his name has come in confessional statement, I am inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the above named, petitioner is directed to surrender before the learned court within three weeks from today and in the event of his

surrender / arrest, the petitioner shall be released on bail, on furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 25,000/- (twenty five thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of learned S.D.J.M at Khunti, in connection with Murhu P.S. Case No. 08 of 2026, subject to conditions as laid down under Section 482 (2) of B.N.S.S, 2023.
