By way of this writ petition, the petitioner is inter alia seeking a direction for offer of appointment on compassionate basis. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the father of the petitioner, who was serving with the respondent- Department, died in harness on 29.07.2015. His grievance is that no decision has been taken on his representation filed for appointment on compassionate basis till date. 4. Learned Advocate General submits that if that is so, appropriate decision on the representation shall be taken by the Authorities within a reasonable time. 5. In light of the statement made by learned Advocate General, this petition is disposed of with the direction that if till date no decision has indeed been taken on the representation of the petitioner for appointment on compassionate basis, then, needful be done by the Authorities in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from today.
