JUSTICE R DEVDAS ORAL ORDER The grievances of the petitioners individually are directed against the impugned order at Annexure ‘A’ dated 06.06.2023 whereby the second respondent-Deputy Commissioner, Bengaluru Urban District, has proceeded to quash the grants made in favour of 218 beneficiaries and at Sl.Nos.145 and 68 are the names of the petitioners. 2. Learned Counsel for the petitioners submits that without verifying the correct facts, the Deputy Commissioner has cancelled all the grants on the ground that the Hakkupatras granted in favour of the petitioners have not been duly registered in the office of the jurisdictional Sub-Registrar and that the petitioners are not residing in the properties granted to them. 3. Learned Counsel draws the attention of this Court to Annexures ‘B’ and ‘B1’ which are the registered documents and submits that the information provided to - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:13882 WP No. 14367 of 2023 the Deputy Commissioner insofar as the petitioners are concerned is incorrect. 4. Learned Counsel submits that the Hakkupatras issued to the petitioners have been duly registered in the office of the Sub-Registrar, Gandhinagar, (Kacharakanahalli), Bengaluru on 29.07.2021 and the petitioners have put up constructions and are residing in the lands in question. 5. Consequently, the writ petition is allowed. The impugned order at Annexure ‘A’ dated 06.06.2023 passed by the respondent-Deputy Commissioner, Bengaluru Urban District, Bengaluru, insofar as the petitioners are concerned is hereby quashed and set aside.
