Chatterjee, Advocate For the State : Mr. Naveen Kr. Gaunjhu, A.P.P 02/ 13.05.2026: Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned counsel for the State. 2. The petitioners are apprehending their arrest in connection with Karra P.S. Case No. 13 of 2026, registered under sections 126(2), 115(2), 118(1), 308(5), 3(5) of BNS, pending in the Court of learned SDJM, Khunti. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioner no. 3 is Parha Raja of the Gram Sabha and petitioner nos. 1, 2, 4 and 5 are the members of the Parha of the Gram Panchayat. He next submits that petitioners have objected the informant about the illegal carrying of sand and to buttress this argument he refers to annexure-2 which is applications addressed to the district administration. He next submits that informant is sand merchant and by way of concocted story the petitioners have been implicate in this case.. He submits that petitioners have got no criminal antecedent which is disclosed in para 23 of the petition. On these grounds, he submits that the petitioners may kindly be provided privilege of ( 2026:JHHC:14649 ) anticipatory bail. 4. Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer and submits that allegations are there of stopping trucks and demanding extortion. 5. Annexure-2 is document which clearly suggests that petitioners have informed to the authorities about the illegal transportation of sand and it has been pointed out that petitioner no. 3 is Parha Raja of the Gram Sabha and petitioner nos. 1, 2, 4 and 5 are the members of the Parha of the Gram Panchayat and informant is sand merchant and petitioners have got no criminal antecedent which is disclosed in para 23 of the petition. 6. In the attending facts and circumstances of the case, I am inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners. Accordingly, the above named, petitioners are directed to surrender before the learned court within three weeks from today and in the event of their surrender / arrest, the petitioners shall be released on bail, on furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 25,000/- (twenty five thousand) each with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of learned SDJM, Khunti, in connection with Karra P.S.
