ASSAM CUM CHAIRMAN OF STATE LEVEL SELECTION COMMITTEE 2:ANANT LAL GYANI DY. COMMISSIONER CUM CHAIRMAN OF DISTRICT LEVEL SELECTION COMMITTEE DHUBRI PIN- 78330 Advocate for the Petitioner : MR. S K GHOSH, MS F AHMED Advocate for the Respondent : , BEFORE HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE NELSON SAILO ORDER Date : 26.08.2026 None appears for the petitioner when the matter is called. This is the third consecutive time that the petitioner remains unrepresented. The allegation of the petitioner is that the judgment of this Page No.# 2/2 Court dated 02.03.2020, passed in WP(C)/4894/2017 has not been complied with and therefore, the contempt petition is filed arraying two respondents. This Court on 04.12.2020 had directed the petitioner to take steps for service of notice only on the respondent No.2 i.e., the Deputy Commissioner, Dhubri District who is also said to be the Chairman of District Level Selection Committee. The respondent No.2 through its letter dated 11.01.2021 addressed to the Registrar(Contempt) of this Court has stated that no relief has been sought from the respondent No.2 in view of the fact that the respondent No.2 as a Chairman of the District Level Selection Committee had recommended the case of the petitioner for her appointment. Accordingly, a prayer for exoneration was made and to drop the contempt allegation against him. Pursuant thereto, the petitioner represented by his counsel, Mr. S. K. Ghosh, had submitted before the Court on 21.07.2023 that he would like to file an impleadment petition to implead the present incumbent occupying the post of Chief Secretary, Govt. of Assam cum Chairman of State Level Selection Committee. Despite the prayer, the impleadment application has not been filed and the petitioner as already stated, remains unrepresented on three occasions including today. Under the circumstance, the Court is inclined to close the contempt petition. Accordingly, the contempt petition stands closed. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
