Page No.# 1/2 GAHC010140162026 undefined THE GAUHATI HIGH COURT (HIGH COURT OF ASSAM, NAGALAND, MIZORAM AND ARUNACHAL PRADESH) Case No. : AB/1532/2026 JAINUR ALI S/O LATE ASHAN ALI, R/O BANGAON, P.S. RANGIA, DIST. KAMRUP, ASSAM. VERSUS THE STATE OF ASSAM REPRESENTED BY THE PP, ASSAM. Advocate for the Petitioner : MR. SURAJIT DAS, JANIFAR RAHMAN,MR. I U CHOWDHURY Advocate for the Respondent : PP, ASSAM, BEFORE HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE RAJESH MAZUMDAR ORDER Date : 25.08.2026 Heard Mr. I.U. Chowdhury, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. K.K. Parasar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State. The petitioner has been granted interim bail on 07.07.2026, taking into consideration the fact that four other co-accused persons have already been granted bail by this Court. Page No.# 2/2 Today, the case diary is not available. The allegation against the petitioner is that the informant had lodged an FIR naming 9 accused, including the petitioner, alleging that they had put up some photographs of deities of the Hindu religion in his hotel and, when the informant asked them to remove the same, they did not do so. In the circumstances, I do not find that custodial interrogation of the present petitioner is necessary. Accordingly, the interim order dated 07.07.2026 is made absolute, subject to the condition that the petitioner continues to participate in and cooperate with the investigation. In the event of failure of the petitioner to participate in and cooperate with the investigation process, the interim bail granted to the petitioner shall be liable to be recalled/cancelled. The anticipatory bail application stands disposed of. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
