2. Counsel appearing on advance notice on behalf of the respondent-ECI has handed over an order passed on 22nd July, 2026 by the First Appellate Authority, i.e., District Election Officer, South (‘DEO, South’) in terms of which the order of ERO for deletion of the name of the petitioner from the electoral roll has been set aside.
3. He has also handed over a communication dated 22nd July, 2026 sent by the Electoral Registration Officer (‘ERO’) to the Deputy Chief Election Officer (Deputy CEO) requesting for reinstatement of the petitioner’s name which was inadvertently deleted on 19th February, 2026. The Deputy CEO has been requested to update the electoral roll at the earliest to reflect the inclusion of petitioner’s name.
4. Both the aforesaid communications have been handed over to the petitioner in Court. The same have been handed over in Court as well and are taken on record.
5. In view of the above, the present writ petition is disposed of while directing the respondent-ECI to facilitate the inclusion of the name of the petitioner in the electoral roll through enumeration file. The respondent-ECI shall also restore the login credentials of the petitioner on the ECI Website.
6. Pending applications also stand disposed of.
