Also heard Mr. D P Goswami, learned Additional Public Prosecutor. 2. This application under Section 483 of the BNSS, 2023 has been filed by the petitioner, namely, Kumud Deka, seeking bail in connection with Hajo Page No.# 2/3 P.S Case No. 534/2025 under Sections 85/109(1)/118(2)/351(3) of the BNS, 2023. 3. The informant, who is the wife of the petitioner lodged an FIR that she was being tortured and harassed by the petitioner since their marriage in the year 2020 and on 20.12.2025, the petitioner went to the place where the informant was living separately and stabbed her in the waist with a knife, causing her grievous injury. 4. The petitioner has been behind bars since 21.12.2025 and the forwarding report does not indicate the nature of the injury and it appears that the informant herself had lodged the FIR, which prima facie indicates that the injury may not be of a grievous nature. 5. Having regard to the above as well as the period of about 38 days spent by the petitioner behind bars, the prayer for bail is allowed. It is provided that the petitioner shall be released on bail of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand) only, with one surety of the like amount in connection with the aforesaid case, subject to the satisfaction of the learned Elaka Magistrate. 6. It is further directed that the petitioner shall not try to contact or influence Page No.# 3/3 the victim or any other witnesses and shall cooperate with the investigation. 7.
