2026:JHHC:14371 IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI W.P.(C) No. 3510 of 2026 ----- 1.Arjun Thakur, S/o Ruplal Thakur 2.Baleshwar Thakur, S/o Late Jipnandan Thakur 3.Mukesh Thakur, S/o Shankar Thakur All R/o Village- Rauta, P.O. + P.S. Mandu, District Ramgarh .... Petitioner(s). Versus 1.The State of Jharkhand 2.The Secretary, Department of Revenue, Registration & Land Reforms, Government of Jharkhand, Ranchi 3.The Deputy Commissioner, Ramgarh 4.Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Ramgarh 5.Circle Officer, Mandu, Ranchi … Respondent(s) ------ CORAM : SRI ANANDA SEN, J. ------ For the Petitioner(s) : Mr. Deepak Kumar, Advocate For the State : AC to AG …...... 02/ 12.05.2026 Heard, learned counsel for the petitioners and learned counsel for the State. 2. Petitioners are challenging the notice under Section 3 of the Bihar/Jharkhand Public Land Encroachment Act issued by the competent authority. 3. Proceeding has been initiated against the petitioners under the Jharkhand Public Land Encroachment Act and only a notice has been issued to the petitioners to participate in the proceeding. There is nothing on record to suggest that notice is vague, nor it is the case that the authority who has issued the notice has got no jurisdiction. 4. Since, the notice has been issued by the authority having jurisdiction, the petitioners are supposed to appear before the authority in the encroachment case and put fourth their defence which is expected to be considered before passing an appropriate order as per law. Thus, I am not inclined to entertain this writ petition, the same is disposed of. (ANANDA SEN, J.) 12th May, 2026 R.S./S.K.C. Uploaded on 13 /05/2026
