JUSTICE M.NAGAPRASANNA ORAL ORDER The petitioner is before this Court calling in question the registration of a crime in Crime No.239/2023 registered for the offences punishable under Sections 498A and 34 of the Indian Penal Code read with Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. 2. Heard Sri.Sudhanva D.S, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Sri.K.Nageshwarappa, learned HCGP appearing for respondent No.1, Sri.Syed Khaleel Pasha, learned counsel appearing for respondent No.2 and have perused the material on record. 3. The parties to the lis were before the concerned Court in O.S.No.22/2025 and are said to have settled the - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:8202 CRL.P No. 12492 of 2023 dispute amongst themselves by drawing up certain terms of settlement. One such term of settlement is closure of the present proceedings. 4. The parties are present before the Court and would confirm that the matter is settled between the parties in the aforesaid O.S.No.22/2025. 5. In the light of the Compounding Application being filed along with the Joint Affidavit and also the offences being not against the State, I deem it appropriate to accept the Compounding Application and terminate the proceedings as against the petitioners. 6. For the aforesaid reasons, the following: O R D E R [I] Criminal Petition is disposed. [II] Proceedings in Crime No.239/2023 pending before the 11th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:8202 CRL.P No. 12492 of 2023 Court, Mayo Hall, Bangalore City, qua the petitioner stand quashed.
