CORAM :
ANIL L. PANSARE AND NIVEDITA P. MEHTA, JJ.
DATE :
SEPTEMBER 30, 2026.
1. Heard.
2. The order, non-compliance of which is alleged, is dated
11.01.2023. On a bare perusal of Section 20 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, it is clear that no Court shall initiate any proceedings for contempt after the expiry of a period of one year from the date on which the contempt is alleged to have been committed.
3. In the present case, admittedly, the contempt petition has been filed on 02.08.2025. The same is, therefore, barred by limitation under Section 20 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971. Accordingly, the contempt petition stands dismissed. (JUDGE) (JUDGE) MPBalekar 2026:BHC-NAG:12957-DB Signed by: Mr. Mrunal P. Balekar Designation: PA To Honourable Judge Date: 30/09/2026 18:02:55
