No. 17/2020, titled Sita Devi @ Sita Mani vs. Gokal Ram by Principal Judge, Family Court, Kinnaur at Rampur Bushahr, District Shimla, H.P., whereby petitioner was directed to pay maintenance @ Rs. 10,000/- per month to the respondent from the date of order. 1 Whether the reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 2026:HHC:24375 Cr.Rev(FC) No. 52 of 2024 2. During pendency of petition, matter was referred for mediation to learned Mediator Mr. G.D. Verma, Senior Advocate. 3. Before learned Mediator on 12.09.2025, parties had arrived at a compromise, which has been recorded by the learned Mediator. It reads as under:- “Gokal Ram vs. Sita Devi Cr. Revision No.52/2024 12.09.2025. Present: Sh. Gokal Ram, petitioner along with Sh. Karan Singh Kanwar, Advocate, and Ms. Bhagya Rani, Advocate, for the petitioner. Respondent Sita Devi is present along with Sh. Mohar Singh, Advocate. Mediation proceedings have been carried out with the assistance of the learned counsel for both the parties. Learned counsel for the parties on instructions received from their respective clients have stated that in case a sum of Rs. 2 lacs are deposited in the fixed deposit account of Smt. Sita Devi by Sh. Gokul Ram at State Bank of India, Branch at Jakri, Rampur Bushahr on or before 31.10.2025, in that event all the past arrears of maintenance shall be deemed to have been cleared and Smt. Sita Devi will not claim any other amount. Also Sh. Gokul Ram stated that he has already deposited a sum of Rs. 6,000/- on account of monthly maintenance of Sita Devi in her account for the month of September,2025. Sh. Gokul Ram has shown original receipt in this regard to Sh. Mohar Singh, Advocate. Sh. Gokul Ram has stated that he will continue to pay monthly maintenance to Smt. Sita Devi in future and will not commit any default. On account of this, amicable settlement of dispute, it has been agreed upon between the parties that this Revision Petition before Hon'ble Court shall be deemed to have been disposed of on the basis of this compromise. 3 2026:HHC:24375 Cr.Rev(FC) No. 52 of 2024 Also the execution proceedings going on in the Court of learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Rampur Bushahr shall be deemed to have been disposed of, having been fully satisfied. Compromise has been duly signed by the petitioner as well as respondent and Mr. Karan Singh Kanwar, Advocate for petitioner and Mr. Mohar Singh, Advocate, for respondent. 5. In terms of compromise, petitioner has paid Rs. 2,00,000/- on lump-sum with respect to the past arrears of maintenance and has agreed to pay Rs. 6,000/- per month towards monthly maintenance to the respondent instead of Rs. 10,000/- per month, as awarded by Family Court. 6. As per compromise, execution petition bearing Cr.M.A./Registration No. 183 of 2025, titled Sita Devi vs. Gokal Ram, pending before Family Court, Kinnaur at Rampur Bushahr shall stand closed and the petitioner shall continue to pay maintenance @ Rs. 4 2026:HHC:24375 Cr.Rev(FC) No. 52 of 2024 6,000/- per month in future on or before 10th of every month for which it shall be due, of-course subject to any further order passed by the Court, as permissible under law. 7. Before parting, we would like to record words of appreciation for learned Mediator, Mr. G.D. Verma, Senior Advocate/Mediator for his earnest efforts for materializing settlement and also for learned counsel and parties whose active cooperation has resulted into happy ending of litigation. 8. The impugned order dated 23.07.2024, passed in petition under Section 125, Cr.P.C., bearing CIS Regd. No. 17/2020, titled Sita Devi @ Sita Mani vs. Gokal Ram by Principal Judge, Family Court, Kinnaur at Rampur Bushahr, District Shimla, H.P. stands modified in aforesaid terms. 9.
