In the light of the limited relief sought for, this Court is of the view that notice to respondent can be dispensed with and accordingly, notice to respondent is dispensed with. 3. This writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the Court of II Additional Principal Judge, Family Court, Bengaluru to dispose of M.C.No.7805/2022 which is pending on its file time bound. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is the wife of respondent. She filed M.C.No.7805/2022 seeking a decree of divorce. Chief examination of PW1 was completed on 04.02.2025 and the matter was posted for cross-examination of PW1. There is no progress in the case since one year i.e., from February 2025 to February 2026 i.e., till now and respondent did - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:9950 WP No. 37944 of 2025 not choose to cross-examine PW1. The Court is adjourning the matter simply and aggrieved by the same, this writ petition is filed. 5. Record discloses justification in the submission that is made by learned counsel for the petitioner. The certified copy of the proceeding sheet reveals absence of any progress in the matter since one year. Therefore, this Court considers desirable to allow the writ petition and give directions as prayed for. Hence, the following: ORDER (i) Writ petition is allowed. (ii) The Court of II Additional Principal Judge, Family Court, Bengaluru is directed to take all steps for disposal of M.C.No.7805/2022 time bound preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. (iii) As the writ petition is disposed of without notice to respondent, Family Court is directed to serve copy of this order to respondent so as to give - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:9950 WP No. 37944 of 2025 notice to respondent, about filing of this petition and its disposal.
