By way of the present petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No. 454/2017 registered at Police Station Malviya Nagar for the offences punishable under Sections 420/406/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereinafter referred to as the ‘IPC’), the chargesheet filed thereunder under Sections 406/420/467/468/471/120B IPC, and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, on the basis of the settlement arrived at between the parties. 3. Issue notice. The learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State. 4. The petitioner and the respondents are present before this Court through Video Conferencing and have been identified by their counsel and Investigating Officer (IO). This is a digitally signed order. The FIR arose in connection with a series of disputes between the petitioner and respondent nos. 2 and 3, including multiple complaints under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (hereinafter referred to as ‘NI Act’) FIRs and civil proceedings. 6. On a query made by this Court, the respondents who have been identified by the IO, have categorically stated that they have entered into compromise, vide Settlement Agreement dated 24.04.2026, out of their own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Therefore, they have no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 7. In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 8. Accordingly, FIR No. 454/2017, registered at Police Station Malviya Nagar for the offences punishable under Sections 420/406/34 IPC, the chargesheet filed thereunder under Sections 406/420/467/468/471/120B IPC, and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed. 9. The present petition is disposed of. 10. Pending application(s), if any, also stand(s) disposed of. 11. The order be uploaded on the website forthwith.
