JUSTICE SACHIN SHANKAR MAGADUM ORAL ORDER The captioned writ petition is filed assailing the endorsement/order dated 10.12.2024 vide Annexure-G issued by the respondent declining to provide CCTV footage relating to an incident dated 26.10.2024 that occurred between 11.30 a.m. to 12.55 p.m. within the Court premises. Feeling aggrieved by the said endorsement/order, the captioned writ petition is filed. 2. Learned counsel appearing for the respondent, on instructions, submits that pursuant to the directions issued by this Court, the Chief Executive Officer of the concerned Court has caused verification of the CCTV footage pertaining to the alleged incident dated 26.10.2024. It is submitted that upon scrutiny and screening of the available records, it is found that the relevant footage has been erased in the ordinary course of maintenance and is - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:16934 WP No. 12730 of 2025 no longer available in the system. Consequently, the respondent expresses its inability to furnish the said CCTV footage to the petitioner. 3. In light of the aforesaid submission, it becomes evident that the primary relief sought for in the present writ petition, namely, a direction to produce and hand over the CCTV footage of the incident in question, cannot be granted, as the subject matter itself is no longer in existence. The cause of action, to that extent, does not survive for consideration. Hence, the relief sought in the captioned writ petition is rendered wholly infructuous and does not warrant any further adjudication by this Court.
