Having regard to the prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the instant petition is taken up for disposal at the threshold stage. 2. It appears that the petitioner is facing trial in FIR No. 84/2024 registered at Police Station Trehgam for commission of offences under Sections 8/21/29 of the NDPS Act before the Court of Principal Sessions Judge, Kupwara (hereinafter referred to as “the Trial Court”). The petitioner is stated to have filed an application dated 02.05.2025 before the Trial Court seeking a direction to the proprietor of Naseeb Dhaba to provide CCTV/video footage installed in the hotel for the period from 14.11.2024 at 12:00 PM till 01:00 AM of 15.11.2024 to the petitioner or his counsel. 3. It is contended that despite the application having been filed and repeatedly pressed before the Trial Court, the same has not been disposed of. The petitioner intends to rely upon the said footage in order to establish his innocence in connection with the incident leading to registration of the aforesaid FIR. 4. Be that as it may, once an application has been moved before the Trial Court, it is under a legal obligation to consider and dispose of the same, one way or the other, expeditiously. 5. Accordingly, having regard to the innocuous relief prayed for, the instant petition is disposed of at the threshold stage with a direction to the learned Trial Court to consider and dispose of the application filed by the petitioner expeditiously, after providing adequate opportunity of hearing to the parties concerned. 6.
