ORAL JUDGMENT (PER: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE VIJAYKUMAR A. PATIL)
This Writ Petition (Habeas Corpus) is filed by the mother alleging that her daughter has been missing since
21.11.2025. Based on certain assertions made in the petition regarding respondent No.4, notice was ordered to the State. In response, the State entered appearance.
2. We have heard Shri. D. Nagaraja Reddy,
learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, and Shri. Thejesh. P., learned High Court Government Pleader appearing for respondents No.1 to 3.
3. The learned High Court Government Pleader submits that the detenue has been secured by Shri. Dileep Kumar K.H. - Police Inspector, and Smt. Sashikala - WHC 387, of Rajanakunte Police Station, Bengaluru.
4. In view of the said submission, we conducted in-camera proceedings in Chambers. We had a detailed

interaction with the detenue as well as the petitioner/mother and perused the records.
5. It is clear that the detenue has now attained the age of majority and has stated that she is working as a maid in an apartment in Whitefield. She has disclosed the name of the owners with whom she is working. The petitioner/mother insisted that the detenue should accompany her; however, the detenue declined to do so and stated that she is staying in the said apartment and working as a maid on her own volition.
6. The detenue has been produced before this Court. She is a major and is well-versed in worldly affairs. Despite sufficient counselling regarding the pros and cons, the detenue has expressed her willingness to continue staying independently at her present place of work.
7. In view of the above, and having regard to the fact that the detenue has been produced before this Court
