JUSTICE M.NAGAPRASANNA ORAL ORDER Heard Smt. Jayashree P., learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, Sri. Channappa Earappa, learned High Court Government Pleader appearing for respondent No.1, and have perused the material on record. 2. During the pendency of the proceedings, the parties to the lis have settled the dispute among themselves and have filed a joint compromise memo along with an affidavit. The joint compromise memo reads as follows: "JOINT COMPROMISE MEMO " The Petitioners and Respondent No.2 respectfully submit as follows: 1. The Petitioners and Respondent No.2 submit that with the intervention of elders, well-wishers, and respectable persons, the parties have amicably settled all their disputes arising out of matrimonial differences 2. It is submitted that the marriage between Petitioner No.1 and Respondent No.2 has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce dated 01.08.2025 passed in M.C. No.4/2025 by the Principal Judge, Family Court, Chikmagaluru. 3. Respondent No.2 states that she has no surviving grievance or claim whatsoever against the Petitioners in respect of Crime No.21/2025 registered by Women Police Station, Chikmagaluru, and the consequential proceedings - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:14143 CRL.P No. 1503 of 2026 in C.C. No. 1622/2025 pending before the Court of the II Additional Senior Civil Judge & JMFC, Chikmagaluru. 4. Respondent No.2 voluntarily agrees and undertakes that she has withdrawn all allegations made against the Petitioners and has no objection for quashing the proceedings in Crime No.21/2025 and C.C. No. 1622/2025 in the interest of justice. 5. The parties submit that the present compromise is entered into voluntarily, out of their free will and consent, without any force, coercion, or undue influence from any quarter. 6. In view of the above settlement, the parties jointly pray that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to record this compromise and quash the proceedings in C.C. No. 1622/2025 arising out of Crime No.21/2025 of Women Police Station, Chikmagaluru, in the interest of justice and equity. WHEREFORE, the parties respectfully pray that this Hon'ble Court be pleased to record the compromise and pass appropriate orders in terms of this Joint Compromise Memo. 3. In the light of the settlement arrived at between the parties, I deem it appropriate to accept the joint memo and close the proceedings against the petitioners in the subject petition. 4. The crime so registered against these petitioners as well as the charge sheet so filed pursuant to the crime in C.C.No.1622/2025 stands quashed. 5.
