For Petitioner(s): Mr.R.Prakalathan For Respondent(s): Mr.D.Ravichander, Special Government Pleader (For R1 to R4) O R D E R This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to delete the names of the 32 persons from the revenue records for the properties morefully disclosed in the prayer to this Writ Petition and restore the land classification as “Tharisu Poramboke” in all the revenue records. 2.The petitioner had earlier approached this Court by filing a Writ Petition in W.P.No.20558 of 2008. By an order dated 22.08.2008 passed in the said Writ Petition, this Court had directed the official respondents to conduct enquiry and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner’s request for cancellation of pattas standing in the name of the 32 persons for the properties morefully disclosed in the prayer to this Writ Petition. According to the petitioner, subsequent to the said direction, the patta standing in the names of 32 persons for the subject properties was ordered to be cancelled by the revenue authorities. According to the petitioner, aggrieved by the same, a Writ __________ Page2 of 6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 12135 of 2026 Petition was also filed by the aggrieved persons. According to the petitioner, the said Writ Petition also came to be dismissed. In such circumstances, the petitioner had presented a representation on 23.04.2025, requesting the respondents to delete the names of the 32 persons from the revenue records for the properties morefully disclosed in the prayer to this Writ Petition and restore the land classification as “Tharisu Poramboke”. Since the said representation was not considered, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition. 3.Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 4. 4.No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the petitioner’s representation as stated supra is considered on merits and in accordance with law, after giving due consideration to the supporting documents produced by the petitioner and after hearing all the necessary parties, which includes the 5th respondent, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner’s representation. Since no adverse orders are passed as against the 5th respondent, notice to the 5th respondent in this Writ Petition is dispensed with by this Court. __________ Page3 of 6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 12135 of 2026 5.For the foregoing reasons, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the 3rd respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner’s representation dated 23.04.2025, seeking for deletion of the names of the 32 persons found in the revenue records for the properties morefully disclosed in the prayer to this Writ Petition and for restoration of the land classification as “Tharisu Poramboke”, after giving due consideration to the supporting documents produced by the petitioner and after hearing the objections of all the necessary parties, which includes the 5th respondent, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
