No. 413 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 4 ORDER The case of the petitioner is that the fourth respondent, who is her neighbour, introduced the fifth respondent stating that he would assist her in securing a Government job. Believing the words of the fourth respondent, the petitioner handed over 15 sovereigns of gold to the fifth respondent. Subsequently, she came to know that both respondents had cheated her. Hence, she lodged a complaint dated 12.02.2026 before the respondent police. As no steps were taken, she has filed the present petition. 2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that, on receipt of the petitioner’s complaint dated 12.02.2026, summons was issued to the petitioner for her appearance on 01.03.2026 to provide further details and to submit supporting documents, if any. However, the petitioner did not respond to the summons issued by the third respondent. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner would appear before the third respondent on 17.03.2026 without fail, along with supporting materials. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP Crl. In view of the above, the third respondent is directed to conduct an enquiry on the petitioner’s complaint and complete the same as expeditiously as possible. 5.
