Mishra … for the respondents February 24, 2026 [SR] Item No.2 Petitioner seeks electric connection at Survey No. 55/1/1/P situated at Nayagaon village, Sri Vijaya Puram Tehsil, South Andaman District. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that, despite application for grant of electricity, the authorities are yet to grant one. Learned advocate appearing for the Electricity Department submits that, the application for electricity was made on February 3, 2026 and the writ petition was filed on February 13, 2026. Electricity Department should be afforded atleast 30 days time to consider his application. Apparently, the petitioner before this Court is in settled possession of the property in question. Petitioner is entitled to electric supply as being in settled possession. In such circumstances, the respondent no. 3 is directed to grant electric supply to the petitioner upon compliance of all formalities and payment of all costs, charges and expenses for 2 the same, by the petitioner. Supply be effected preferably within a period of fortnight from date. WPA/87/2026 is disposed of without any order as to costs. ( Debangsu Basak, J. )
