1. This is an o/ce reference.
2. This Court, vide order dated 02.07.2024 passed in MCRC No. 8138 of 2023, while allowing the bail of the applicant, namely, Pooja Chauhan, had expressed its trust that the trial Court would make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a certi=ed copy of the order, if there was no legal impediment.
3. Earlier on two occasions also, this Court had granted extension of KUNAL DEWANGAN Digitally signed by KUNAL DEWANGAN
2 time for compliance of the order dated 02.07.2024.
4. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Bilaspur District-Bilaspur (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 08.12.2025 has requested for grant of three months time for concluding the trial.
5. It transpires from perusal of the PUD that in the case, the statement of only one (01) prosecution witness, the Investigating O/cer, remains to be recorded. Summons/bailable warrants for securing the presence of the witnesses have been issued through the Nodal O/cer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Headquarters, Bilaspur. However, due to the absence of the witnesses, unnecessary delay is being caused in the proceedings. The witnesses do not appear in Court on time. At present, a total of 291 NDPS cases are pending before competent Court, out of which 52 cases are time-bound pending matters, and continuous eDorts are being made for their disposal. Therefore, it is respectfully submitted that a period of three (03) months is required for =nal disposal of the case. Accordingly, it is most respectfully requested that three months additional time may kindly be granted.
6. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is
directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of three months from today.
7. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed o6 with the aforesaid direction.
8. Registry is directed to send a certi=ed copy of this order to the trial Court concerned for necessary information and compliance. Sd/- (Ramesh Sinha)
