Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and both the learned Senior Panel Counsel accepting notice for the first respondent as well as the Additional Government Pleader accepting notice for the second respondent. 3. The case of the petitioner is as follows: The petitioner, who is a Sri Lankan refugee, made an application dated 06.10.2022 to the first respondent for securing Indian citizenship. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No.10018 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 The grievance of the petitioner is that the said application is pending consideration from 2022. Though the petitioner’s application was forwarded to the second respondent for inquiry, nothing was forthcoming. Hence the petitioner is before this Court. 4. Considering the nature of prayer sought for and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner’s application dated 06.10.2022 on merits and pass appropriate orders therein in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
