Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Bengaluru, dated 20.02.2024 in CC no.9820/2012 rejecting the application filed by him seeking direction to the Indian Embassy, Washington DC, to renew his passport bearing No.G44304586. 2. Sri. H. Shanthi Bhushan, learned Deputy Solicitor General of India appearing for respondent no.3 submits that the petitioner’s application seeking renewal of passport is rightly rejected as he had sought a direction at the hands of the concerned Court to direct Indian Embassy, Washington DC, to consider renewal. - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:13092 CRL.P No. 7501 of 2024 3. Learned Deputy Solicitor General of India further submits that an application earlier was preferred before the Indian Embassy, Washington DC and it was withdrawn. In the event, the petitioner would prefer an application before Indian Embassy, Washington DC, suitable directions could be issued by the Regional Passport Office. 4. In light of the said submission, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he would avail that remedy as available in law. 5. In light of submissions of learned Deputy Solicitor General of India and submission of learned counsel for the petitioner that he would make application before Indian Embassy, Washington DC, reserving such liberty, the petition stands disposed of.
