The petitioner has been issued a show cause notice by the Regional Passport Officer, Lucknow on the ground that he has suppressed the pendency of a criminal case against him in his application of issue of a passport. The case that is pending against the petitioner is case crime no.292 of 2017, under Section 354-B, 504, 506 IPC and 7/8 POCSO Act, Police Station Rajghat, District Gorakhpur. The petitioner has already filed a reply to the show cause notice dated 22.01.2026 on 14.09.2026. The Regional Passport Officer, Lucknow is ordered to pass appropriate order in the matter after considering the petitioner's reply and whatever material he has produced in support of his stand within a period of one month. This petition is disposed of in terms of aforesaid orders.
