CORAM:
HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE PURUSHAINDRA KUMAR KAURAV O R D E R %
13.07.2026
1. The applicant by way of the present application seeks regular bail in connection with the FIR No.267/2024 for the offence punishable under Sections 20(b)(ii)C/25/29 of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 registered at police station Crime Branch. Delhi.
2. Bearing in mind the decision already passed by this Court with respect to two of the accused persons, who have been enlarged on bail, the Court was of the prima facie opinion that the applicant also deserves regular bail. However, learned counsel appearing for the prosecution points out that the applicant was involved in as many as 25 criminal cases.
3.
Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, however, points out that out of 25 cases, at least in 10 cases, either he has been discharged or acquitted.
4. With respect to the criminal cases, it is also pointed out that after 2020 This is a digitally signed order. except one case, which was registered in 2024, and relates to SC/ST Act, there is no case thereafter.
5.
Learned counsel places reliance on the decision of this Court in the case of Anwar Alam v. State NCT of Delhi in BAIL APPN. 1621/2023.
6. The Court, having noticed the applicant’s involvement in 25 criminal cases, and without going into other aspects, declines to enlarge the petitioner on regular bail at this stage. The application is, therefore, rejected only on that ground.
7. So far as the case of Anwar Alam is concerned, the Court finds that the fact and situation in both the cases are distinct and there cannot be any straight jacket formula for grant of bail.
8. The application stands dismissed.
