HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:11756 WP No. 5742 of 2026
ORAL ORDER
The petitioner's grievance is with the jurisdictional police not filing a report on completion of investigation despite FIR being registered in the month of June, 2019. Mr. Nishit Kumar Shetty, the
learned counsel for the petitioner, submits that the petitioner is constrained because as the first informant, he would have no recourse under the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 if jurisdictional police did not complete investigation in an expedited manner.
Be this as it may, the petition stands disposed of with Mr. B. Ravindranath, the learned Additional Government Advocate who accepts notice for the first respondent, submitting on instructions that the delay in completion of the investigation is because certain documents, which are relied upon the first informant, were sent for forensic examination and that the police proposes to file a final report.
