Ajay Mohan Goel, Judge (Oral) By way of this petition, the petitioner has, inter alia, prayed for the following reliefs:- “a) Issue a writ of Certiorari quashing the selection of Respondent No. 3 (Dr. Harpreet Kaur) to the post of Assistant Professor (Anaesthesiology) pursuant to Advertisement dated 20.12.2025; b) Issue a writ of Mandamus directing the Respondents to produce entire selection record including: i. Interview marks, ii. Evaluation sheets, iii. Minutes of Selection Committee, iv. Criteria adopted for selection; c) Direct re-evaluation/reconsideration of the Petitioner's candidature strictly as per merit; d) In the alternative, direct fresh selection process in accordance with law.” 2. In terms of the last order, learned Deputy Solicitor General of India has produced the record of the Selection Committee. A perusal of the average mark-sheet prepared by the Selection 1 Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 2026:HHC:8352 Committee demonstrates that the selected candidate has secured 61 marks out of 100 marks, whereas the petitioner has secured only 40 marks. In fact, there are other candidates, though belonging to SC, ST and OBC Categories, who have secured more marks than the petitioner. Further record demonstrates that all the members of the Screening Committee individually also had assessed the selected candidate most meritorious and the marks secured by the petitioner are much less than the selected candidate and in light of this fact, this Court does not finds any reason to take the case any further and the petition is accordingly closed. The record produced before the Court is returned back to the learned Deputy Solicitor General of India in a sealed cover. 3. The petition stands disposed of.
