Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for more than 2 years 1 month. Learned advocate submits that there has hardly been any progress in the case and only five witnesses have been examined. The prosecution intends to examine 18 witnesses. As such, petitioner may be released on bail. Learned advocate appearing for the State, on the other hand, opposes the prayer for bail. I have taken into account the merits of the case which reflect that the present petitioner established an extramarital affair with the deceased and circulated intimate pictures which breach the privacy for which at the matrimonial home, the deceased was compelled to commit suicide. Petitioner being the sole responsible person in the offence particularly 2 with regard to circulation of obscene materials, I am of the view that this is not a fit case for granting bail to the petitioner. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. However, State would expedite the process of trial. Report submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the State be kept with the record. The application for bail, being CRM (M) 2627 of 2025, is, thus, disposed of. All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
