ORAL ORDER
Heard Sri.Mahesha V, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and have perused the material on record.
2. The petitioner is before this Court calling in question the order of the concerned Court which rejects the extension of time that is sought by the petitioner to deposit 20% amount as is obtaining under Section 148 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the demand draft is ready and would be paid before the concerned Court if a suitable direction is issued. Apart from that, the
learned counsel submits that the petitioner is in judicial custody now for having not complied with the order of deposit of 20% amount.
4. Therefore, I deem it appropriate to stay the order of the concerned Court with a direction to the concerned Court to

accept the deposit and on the deposit being made by the petitioner, appropriate directions to the jail authorities be sent to release the petitioner immediately after such deposit.
With the aforesaid observations, the petition stands
disposed.
As a consequence, I.A.No.1/2026 stands disposed.
