Heard Mr. D. Panging, learned Senior Counsel, assisted by Ms. D. Tamuk,
learned counsel for the petitioners. Also heard Mr. N. Ratan, learned counsel appearing for the alleged contemnor.
2. The alleged contemnor, Ms. Sonalika Jiwani, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, East Siang District, Pasighat, is personally present before the Court in
Page No.# 3/3 compliance with the directions issued by this Court.
3. Mr. Ratan, learned counsel appearing for the alleged contemnor, submits that the judgment and order dated 01.04.2026 passed by this Court in WP(C) No. 571(AP)/2025 has since been fully complied with. It is submitted that the earlier lapse occurred on account of a misinterpretation of the order passed by this Court.
4. The alleged contemnor tenders her unconditional apology for the lapse and undertakes that such lapse shall not recur in future. She further undertakes to abide by and comply with the orders and directions of this Court in their true letter and spirit.
5. Having regard to the subsequent compliance with the directions contained in the judgment and order dated 01.04.2026 passed in WP(C) No. 571(AP)/2025, the unconditional apology tendered by the alleged contemnor and the undertaking given before this Court, this Court is inclined to take a lenient view of the matter.
6. Accordingly, the contempt proceedings contemplated to be initiated against Ms. Sonalika Jiwani, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, East Siang District, Pasighat, are hereby dropped. The contempt petition stands closed.
7. Consequently, the connected interlocutory application, being IA(C)/142/ (AP)/2026, also stands closed.
