1. Heard Ms. Grace I. Namgi, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Also heard Ms. Pichano Kithan, learned Government Advocate for the respondents.

Shri Tilak Das has filed this application under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus and/or certiorari or any other appropriate writ, order or direction, directing the respondent No. 1, i.e. the Appellate Authority, to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner as expeditiously as possible.
3. It is submitted that in terms of Part V, Rule 25 of the Nagaland Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1967 the Appellate Authority is required to dispose of an appeal within 3 (three) months from the date of receipt thereof.
4. It is submitted that the appeal has been pending for more than 7 (seven) months, which is beyond the statutory period prescribed under the aforesaid Rules.
5. It is further submitted that the petitioner is highly prejudiced by the non-disposal of the appeal within the stipulated period.
6. It is submitted on behalf of the respondents that every endeavour shall be made to dispose of the appeal as expeditiously as possible.
7. Considering the submissions made at the Bar, and the circumstances of the case, I deem it appropriate to direct the respondent No. 1 to consider the petitioner's case and dispose of the appeal preferred by the petitioner on 19.12.2025 within a period of 2 (two) months from the date of this order.
8. The appeal dated 19.12.2025 shall be considered and disposed of by the respondent No.1 within a period of 2 (two) months from the date of this order.

9. In view of the above, this application stands disposed of.
