The case of the petitioner is that the account of the petitioner being Account no. 88517669233 maintained with respondent No. 1 i.e. IDFC First Bank, Tilak Nagar Branch, New Delhi was frozen on instructions of respondent No. 2 on 09.04.2026. The petitioner is a small company suffering acute financial hardships on account of the account being frozen. 3. Mr. Tripathi, learned counsel appearing for the respondent no. 1/Bank states that the bank has received instructions from respondent no. 2 for freezing the account and the disputed amount is Rs. 11,32,851.66/- 4. I am of the view that freezing of an account is an action entailing serious consequences creating hardships for individual/commercial entities in their smooth functioning and the same might result in commercial death to the petitioner. The respondent bank cannot be permitted to take such harsh measures without complying with the principles of natural justice and without any application of mind. 5. For the said reasons, since the disputed amount is only Rs. 11,32,851.66/- subject to respondent no. 1 maintaining a lien on the said amount of Rs. 11,32,851.66/- the Account No. 88517669233 can be permitted to the operated by the petitioner. 6. The petitioner shall also be entitled to avail its rights regarding the defreezing of Rs. 11,32,851.66/- in accordance with the SOP framed by the MHA from various Police Authority including respondent no. 2. 7. With these directions, the petition is disposed of. JASMEET SINGH, J JULY 6, 2026/Ni This is a digitally signed order.
