Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was a student of the respondent no.2, i.e. Zakir Hussain Delhi College, University of Delhi, having secured his admission in the year 2022. He submits that a suspension order was passed against the petitioner by the respondent no.2 College on 20th March, 2025. It is submitted that the suspension order passed against the petitioner would come in the way of his contesting the DUSU Elections. 3. Counsel for the petitioner places reliance on the order passed by this Court on 6th May, 2025, in W.P.(C) 12613/2024 titled “Aryan Maan v. Delhi University and Ors.”, wherein the petition filed by a similarly placed student was disposed of, clarifying that suspension is not a criterion to disqualify a candidate from contesting election. 4. Notice in the writ petition was issued on 14th May, 2026. 5. Subsequently, an additional affidavit has been filed on behalf of the petitioner on 6th July, 2026, wherein it is stated that the petitioner has secured admission in the Department of Buddhist Studies in Master of Arts and is, therefore, now a student of the respondent no.1/University. A fee slip of admission has been filed along with the additional affidavit. 6. In light of the above, the suspension order passed by respondent no.2/College dated 20th March, 2025 would no longer sustain and would no longer be the basis to deny the right of the petitioner to contest in the forthcoming DUSU Elections. 7. Accordingly, the petition stands disposed of. AMIT BANSAL, J JULY 9, 2026 Vivek/- This is a digitally signed order.
