The writ petition has been filed challenging the notice for e-auction for the operation of 19 ferry ghats under the Domkal Panchayat Samity, Murshidabad. By an order dated January 7, 2025, a Co- ordinate Bench of this Court stayed the relevant auction notices. It appears that the period for which the e- auction was invited was from January 21, 2025 to January 20, 2026. Since the said period has expired during the pendency of the writ petition, the writ petition has, in my view, become infructuous. 2 Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of by granting liberty to the Panchayat Samity to take a decision with regard to the issuance of a fresh tender for the aforesaid ferry ghats in accordance with law. Accordingly, WPA 378 of 2025 along with CAN 1 of 2025 is disposed of.
