Romesh Verma, Vacation Judge (Oral) Ms. Santosh Dogra, learned Deputy Advocate General, appears and waives service of notice on behalf of the respondents. 2. The instant petition has been filed for the following substantive reliefs: i. Issue a writ in the nature of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction directing respondents No.1 to 3 to ensure adequate protection to the life and liberty of the petitioners. ii. Direct respondents No. 2 to 3 to immediately consider and decide the representation of the 1 Whether reporters of Local Papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 petitioners and take preventive measures against any unlawful acts of the private respondents. iii. Direct respondents No. 2 to 3 to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioners by respondents No. 4 and 5 or any person acting on their behalf. 3. It is contended in the writ petition that the petitioners solemnized their marriage according to Hindu Rites and ceremonies on 01.06.2026 at Prachin Pashupati Nath Shiv Mandir, Sector-6, Panchkula, Haryana. The family members of petitioner No.1 were averse to the relationship and marriage of the petitioners and after learning about the marriage, the private respondents became extremely annoyed and started extending threats to the petitioners. The petitioners are living under constant fear and insecurity and conduct of the private respondents has created a serious threat to their lives. 4. The petitioners have made a representation to the Superintendent of Police, Bilaspur & Mandi, H.P., seeking protection of their life. 5. Having perused the material placed on record and taking into consideration the peculiar facts and circumstances 3 of the instant case, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to the Superintendents of Police, Bilaspur and Mandi, H.P. that appropriate action may be taken on the said representation of petitioners No. 1 and 2, henceforth and in the event of threat to their lives, appropriate security may be provided to them at the expenses of the petitioners. Needless to say that prompt and immediate action shall be taken by the respondents so that no untoward incident takes place.
