The present writ petition has been filed impugning the order dated 02.07.2019 passed by the Central Government Industrial Tribunal-Cum-Labour Court (CGIT) in an appeal filed by the respondent against the order passed by the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-II, Peenya under Section 14-B of the Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 dated 04.12.2014 thereby imposing the damages of Rs.43,28,025/- for the delayed payment of contribution for the period 01.10.2001 to 31.03.2014 by the respondent. 2. The respondent is a unit of M/s.H.M.T Watch Factory Limited, a Government of India undertaking. 3. Before considering the merit of the case, we would like to deal with the gross delay and latches in approaching this Court against the impugned order dated 02.07.2019 passed by the CGIT. - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:10618-DB WP No. 19150 of 2023 4. We have gone through the memo of the writ petition. Not even single averment has been made explaining the gross delay and latches of more than 4 years in approaching this Court by filing the present writ petition.
