CORAM: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE SANJAY DHAR, JUDGE
ORDER 19.05.2026
1. Through the medium of the present petition, the petitioner is seeking review of order dated 18.02.2008 passed in CIMA No. 52 of 2006 titled Oriental Insurance Company Ltd. vs. Jehlum Exporters Pvt. Ltd. By virtue of the order under review, the ex parte judgment and decree dated 12.06.1996 passed by the learned Principal District Judge, Srinagar, came to be set aside and the matter was remanded to the trial court.
2. Heard the petitioner in person and perused the record of the case.
RP No.7/2026 Page 2 of 2
3. As per the office report, the review petition is delayed by 6543 days. No explanation whatsoever has been furnished in the petition for condonation of such inordinate delay belatedly. The only averment made in the review petition is that a curative petition came to be decided by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India on
13.11.2025. However, as to how the said curative petition has any nexus with the present proceedings is not discernible from the record. In any case, the review petitioner has not even filed a separate application seeking condonation of delay in filing the review petition.
4. In this view of the matter, the present review petition, being grossly barred by limitation and highly belated, is dismissed.
